Лексическая игра «По странам изучаемого языка».
Сценарий предлагается учителем английского языка Гущиной М.В.
Данная игра предназначена для работы с учащимися среднего звена (7-8 классов) и является дополнением к основной программе изучения английского языка. В ходе подготовки и проведения игры в занимательной форме обобщается и закрепляется лингвострановедческий материал. В игре принимают участие по 4 человека в каждой команде.
Цели:
- Поддержание интереса к изучению иностранного языка.
- Развитие догадки и логического мышления.
- Углубление и расширение знания по теме.
- Совершенствование умений и навыков практического владения английским языком по следующим видам речевой деятельности: аудирование, говорение, чтение.
Оборудование:
Мультимедийная доска, проектор, карта мира, карточки с названиями стран, столиц и изображением флагов англоязычных стран.

A slogan on the board: “Welcome to the English-speaking countries”.
Ведущий: Hello, everybody! We are glad to see you at our competition. It is devoted to the English-speaking countries. It is your chance to show your knowledge of the material and your achievements. Let me introduce our jury. I wish you success. Ведущий представляет членов жюри.
Конкурс 1 “Let me introduce!”
Ведущий: Now it’s time to introduce yourselves. The teams should introduce their names, mottos, emblems and captains. Every mentioned position may bring you a point.
Участники команд представляются, говорят названия команд, девизы, показывают эмблемы.
Конкурс 2 “Do you know English-speaking countries?”
Ведущий: Will you name English-speaking countries and show them on the map. Every correct answer will bring you a point.
Конкурс 3 “Flags and capitals”.
Участники получают карточки с изображением флагов, названиями стран и столиц.
Ведущий: Our next competition is called “Flags and capitals”. You’ve got the cards with the flags, names of the countries and capitals. Please, match these cards. The winners will be those who finish their work first. This competition will bring you maximum 6 points (1 point for every correct answer).
Конкурс 4 “Riddle countries”.
Ведущий: Listen to the riddles and try to guess the name of the country. Please, be very attentive! The winner will be the team that gives the correct answer quicker than others.
1. This one of the largest countries in the world. It is washed by the Atlantic Ocean in the East and by the Pacific Ocean in the West. What country is it? The USA
2. This country has two official languages: English and French. The main symbol on the flag is a maple leaf. What country is it? Canada
3. This country is an island state. It is the land of rain and fog. What country is it? Great Britain
4. This country is a continent. There are a lot of unusual animals and plants there. The hottest time of the year in the country is winter. What country is it? Australia

Ведущий: Now let’s see how well you know American and British variants of the English language. There are British words on the board. You have to give American versions of the words. Every correct answer will bring you a point.

Конкурс 7 “Musical competition”.
Ведущий: Our teams have prepared the most famous songs in English. Letuslistentothem! Youarewelcome!
Участники демонстрируют подготовленные ими музыкальные номера, исполняют известные песни на английском языке. На доске демонстрируются фотографии музыкантов, отрывки музыкальных видеороликов, коллажи. В это время жюри подводит итоги.
